HumeRidge Church of Christ is delighted to support the SU School Chaplaincy Program in our local area. Chaplains play a vital role in supporting and reaching out to the kids, staff and wider community through providing practical needs, journeying through difficult situations, hosting fun community events and much more. In all these things they desire to reflect God’s love and help others come to know Jesus.

One of the ways the church at HumeRidge assist chaplains is through the “Schoolyard Blitz” ministry. Our long association with Centenary Heights SHS has led to teams of 60 – 80 volunteers spending several mornings through out the year mowing, painting, and doing other odd jobs to help assist the school maintain a welcoming environment for students, staff and community members who come to the school. Our blitz teams have also visited Middle Ridge SS.

Wherever we can HumeRidge is committed to assist school Chaplains and communities through both practical and financial support as required.

You to can assist in helping the School Chaplaincy Program through giving financially, joining our volunteers or committing to pray for Chaplains, students and school communities in our area. Prayer is vital to this ministry and Zara England made this comment in a recent interview with TRANSFORMED magazine, “I came across a situation recently involving a young boy, and I was stuck and didn’t know how I could help. A good friend reminded me to pray. She said that I might be the only person who ever prays for this boy and that if I don’t, no one will. Who else will intercede with God for the young people of Toowoomba’s schools if the chaplains don’t?”
